Barcelona - Familia Sagrada/Park Guell tickets and Sitges vs Majorca

Hi Everyone, I would very much appreciate your help with a couple of questions. You have always been so helpful!

We are going to Barcelona in early October, following travel in Ireland and France. Although we do not yet have exact dates for when we will be in Barcelona, we definitely want to go to Familia Sagrada and park Guell and know we need to buy tickets ahead of time. How far in advance should we get our tickets?

Also, we want to finish our trip at the beach. We are looking at Sitges and Majorca. I would appreciate any input on which is preferable, pros/cons etc. We are a man and woman in our early sixties.

Thanks much!

Regarding your second question, Sitges and Mallorca are not really directly comparable, Sitges is a mid size regional beach town and Mallorca is a large Mediterranean island with many towns and villages. I guess the question would be how much time do you have? less than a few nights prob Sitges, more than a few nights Mallorca for sure. BTW October prob is not still beach weather, so I would personally not even consider a beach town like Sitges, Mallorca has much more other than than the beach.

As soon as you know your dates, I would book the tickets.

The La Sagrada Familia ticket site offers several options including costs and times. Research the time of day that most interests you. There are lots of posts in this forum that will help you best use your time. The crowds are BIG. The lighting inside changes throughout the day. I went three different times to capture the different lighting (it's a photographer thing...lol.). I was at Park Guell when it opened. Yes, I bought my ticket in advance. After the first hour the big crowds arrived. At least I was able to avoid some of the craziness.

I would encourage you to purchase in advance tickets to any sites you want to visit in Barcelona. Barcelona is a popular place.

Hope this helps.
