Barcelona discount cards for travel and sights

Hello all,
I looking for the best 5 day option for transit and attractions in Barcelona. Out dates are 22/09/2022 - 27-09/2022. La Merce' festival coincides with those dates and is spread all over the city, but we'd like to see as much of the city as we can. Thanks.

Many of the festival events take place in an area roughly between Plaça de Catalunya and the waterfront and near the cathedral and Plaça de Sant Jaume. That area is easy to walk. When we were there for the festival years ago, there were enough events in the area I mentioned that we didn’t have time to see ones in the outlying areas. I’m sure you swill have a good time. Be especially aware of pickpockets since the crowds are huge during the festival.

The one sightseeing card I looked at for Barcelona did not seem like a good deal at all. It mostly provided modest discounts rather than covering the full entry fees. To the extent that you take advantage of La Merce events, you'll have less time for other activities, so the card discounts will be worth less than usual.

I wouldn't have gotten good value from a card with a transportation component, because Barcelona is very walkable; I mostly got around on foot. It was easy to buy transit tickets when I wanted to use the subway or a bus. If you're confident you'll be using public transportation a lot, you can purchase Hola Barcelona Travel Cards valid for 48, 72, 96 or 120 hours. Average cost of those cards is about 8 euros per day; the daily cost doesn't decline much if you buy a card covering a longer period. By comparison, a single transit ticket costs 2.40 euros, and an individual can buy a card good for ten rides for less than 12 euros.

All the costs I've quoted are for travel within Zone 1, which would be adequate for most short-term visitors.
