Barcelona cruise terminal

We will be crossing the Atlantic next May, docking in Barcelona and leaving the same afternoon on the same ship. We would like to see some of Barcelona but we do not want to carry our luggage with us. Does anyone know if there is a place to store luggage at the cruise terminal or does anyone have experience with Royal Caribbean to know if they will store luggage? I'm also concerned about our extra cash and valuables.

Call the cruise line to be certain, but I would be shocked if you cannot just leave your luggage if you are departing on the EXACT SAME ship the next day. In fact, if you will be staying in the exact same suite/cabin, you might not even have to pack your luggage. Surely they will work with you on this.
For Silversea and Seabourn (high-end small ships), a passenger such as you would be considered an "in-transit passenger," traveling on with the ship.

If you have valuables you don't want to tote around as you tour Barcelona, cruise ships will often allow you to store those with the purser (but I would suggest writing out what you are leaving and obtain a receipt). For cash, I would suggest ordering a money belt or neck wallet (a pouch worn around one's neck under their shirt and available on this site if you click on Shop Online) to put large sums of cash/credit cards in. You do want to be careful to not fall victim to pickpockets in any large city.

Don't know about RCL, but Disney lets you leave luggage in your room if you're doing a back-to-back cruise (in the same room). If you're switching rooms, not sure how that would work - I'd email or call them. But I'm betting you can probably leave it on the ship, no problem.

I am not following the question. If you arrive and leave on the same ship, why the need for luggage storage?

We will be changing cabins. The cabin we will be moving to will not be ready for a few hours which is why we will have the luggage problem.

It wasn’t RCL but it on a recent HAL cruise we also switched cabins (transatlantic/2 weeks Baltic). The ship handled everything. We had our bags packed and clothes hanging in the closet. While we were off the ship they moved everything to our new cabin. Certainly check with the cruise line...sometimes more than once (my motto). I would present myself to the purser when boarding to clarify and confirm. There may be special disembarkation and re-embarkation procedures, and they may vary for new and continuing passengers. While the 800 number folks are helpful, it’s the people at the ship’s desk who have the real lowdown, in my experience. I would aim to get off as quickly as possible to maximize any time touring. We took a cab...ostensibly to Placa Catalunya...but were rather unceremoniously dropped at the lower end of La Rambla when the driver announced he wasn’t licensed to drive any further that day. Safe travels.

That is the same experience we had with HAL (Holland Am). We packed up nearly everything, left suitcase on the bed, hanging stuff in the closet, and when we returned at the end of the day it was in the new room. All of the people who were continuing on the next leg had to assemble with passport in the showroom for about an hour or so and then everyone went ashore for the day. And some just hung out on the ship that day. Check with your cruise line. They will have procedures to handle this. They are not going to send you ashore with your luggage.
