Personally I would just take a cab. We stayed a night prior to our cruise, but we just did cabs to the hotel and then hotel to port.
I would still pack light... we all had only carry-ons (our cruise week was 1 of 3 spent in Europe). The Barcelona cabs were tiny and it was pretty funny after the cruise watching all of the people try to cram their giant millions of bags into the cabs! We cabbed port back to airport after as well... I can;t remember the exact cost but it wasn't crazy, maybe 35-40 Euro?

Oh oops just saw party of 8... they did have some bigger cabs I think too but you had to request it...
Being a party of 8 just take two cabs (each cab max 4 pax)... it's the easiest way. Alternatively -which I don't recommend if you're 8!- would be to take the Aerobus from the airport to Plaça Espanya, then the metro to Drassanes (L3 green line) then the bus to the cruise terminal (PortBus). Aside from being more "complicated", it takes considerably longer and most importantly, you'll end up paying about the same: taxi 35-45€ vs. Aerobus 6€ + metro 2.15€* + bus 2.15€ times 8 people (* buying a T-10 travelcard the cost of the metro/bus halves, but to get one at the airport it's a pain in the neck!)
Check for a private transfer, it will be cheaper than 2 taxis.. booktaxibcn.com
@stevebecks809... this company is merely another taxi company, not a private service. Furthermore, if you check their estimate for a minivan for 8, it's the same than taking two regular taxis.
For info: ALL TAXI services in Barcelona are public and regulated by the City Hall (AMB). All taxis are yellow and black despite they might be working for different companies and ALL have the same exact fares.
