Does anyone know the dress code for the Barcelona Casino? I can't find any info on their website & the only comment I've found in any travel forum just says that someone was denied entrance when coming from the beach in shorts.
I have worn pants and a knit shirt and been welcomed. Overall i find spains casinos to be disappointing and lacking in the gaming experience i seek (i play poker).
Man, and does that surprise you? Of course you can't enter the casino on beach shorts -not some restaurants for that matter. Barcelona is a city after all, not a tourist resort... we're easy going but leave the shorts and flip flops for the beach, while in the city it's best casual (or smart casual when required), like we do. This way you don't have to worry about these issues.
Thanks for the replies. Enric, chill a little! US casinos are very casual - shorts are allowed & are not uncommon there. German/Austria/French casinos are very formal requiring jacket & tie for table games. It seems like the Barcelona Casino is a "happy medium". We are not sloppy tourists who slough around in shorts/white socks/sandals/Tshirts but I don't want to use packing space for a suit/tie that is not necessary.
