Casp, all day long. It's a fairly quiet little area, but super central and connected. I used to live two blocks from there.

Staying on the Ramblas is a zoo and not actually convenient to things outside the gothic quarter.

Oooh, I love this question and answer since I just booked a week at Casp 74 today for March!

I've been to Barcelona before - though it was nearly 20 years ago. I agree that I wouldn't stay on are very near Las Ramblas particularly if you are going in a busy period.

How are you doing day trips? If by train then maybe look at the most convenient train station and stay near there. I've been looking around Barcelona-Sants and there are a number of hotels in all price ranges. In fact I'm contemplating Barceló Sants which seems to be on top of the station because it has a funky space theme going on. Weird architecture totally speaks Barcelona to me!

We will spend 2 weeks in Barcelona starting March 16. We have ran across youtube videos by Dennis Callan in Barcelona. They have been excellent in our continued education. We will watch a few more before we leave. Have fun. Sandy
