A party of 5, we will be in Barcelona May 2020 and just reserved an apartment west of Eixample, on Carrer Del Rossello (south of Avinguda Diagonal, west of Passeig de Gracia, east of the Hospital Clinic de Barcelona). We are big walkers and don't mind distance, but do recognize we may need to take metro to some of the places we want to visit Park Guell, Sagrada, La Predrera, Casa Batllo, Barri Gotic. Any feedback on this area? Do you think it is safe? Too far out?

Hard to tell exactly where your apartment is located, but I'd say it's generally in a safe area, albeit kind-of far from the action (tapas, shops, tourist sites etc...). I actually used to live on calle Rosellon, though more in the northern part. My personal preference is Gracia, but the Eixample will do too.

Thanks Carlos...I might try again for Gracia...which is where I had hoped to find a place, but this place was better for our budget. The apartment is in between Carrer d'Aribau and Carrer d'Enric Granados.
