Barcelona + Andalucia Itinerary help?

My husband and I will be traveling through Spain at the end of September. This is our first time to Spain and the main purpose of our trip is to visit family in Barcelona.

Here is our itinerary:

  • Fly into Barcelona

  • Barcelona: 8 days (day trips to Monsterrat, Stiges, Figueres)

  • Granada: 3 days

  • Ronda: 2 days

  • Cordoba: 3 days

  • Fly out of Malaga

I'm wondering if Cordoba needs 3 days? Or, should we skip Cordoba and go to Sevilla? We definitely want to go to Granada and Ronda, but are flexible after those stops. We will be flying between Barcelona and Granada, and using trains/buses in between the others.

I really appreciate your suggestions. Thank you!

Cordoba is very nice, but Sevilla beats it without any question. Obviously some people will disagree, but I think this is a common opinion. You can see the Mesquita in Cordoba on a day trip from Sevilla, so I'd suggest moving your 3 nights to Sevilla and doing a day trip from Sevilla to Cordoba.

Your order seems a bit off. I'd look into flying into Seville from Barcelona, doing Seville, then on to Ronda, finishing in Granada. Granada is closest to Malaga for your flight out. If your flights are set (into Granada, out of Malaga), then it will work OK.

If you are not going to Sevilla, take a day from Cordoba and add it to Granada.

I am sorry but you really can't call it a trip to Andalucia and not include Seville ...

Fly into Barcelona
Barcelona: 8 days (day trips to Montserrat, Sitges, Figueres, Girona, Cadaques, Tarragona)
Granada: 2 days
Cordoba: 2 days
Sevilla: 2 days
Ronda: 2 days
Fly out of Malaga
