Barcelona and Area Itinerary in 5 Days

Sunday: Arrive mid day, staying off Placa Catalunya
Monday: 10 am tickets for Sagrada Familia and 3 pm tickets for Parc Guell
Tuesday: Monserrat or Figueres (Dali Museum)
Wednesday: Montjuet/Barceloneta/Beach area/Waterfront
Thursday: 10 am tickets for Picasso Museum; explore Old Town, El Born (Day of Corupus Christi Festival)
Friday: Figueres (Dali Museum) or Monserrat (whichever we didn't do Tuesday)
Saturday: Depart for France

Lots of wandering and exploring in between of course, but we would like to also slot in Casa Mila and Casa Batllo and want to purchase tickets ahead to avoid lines. Can we fit it in Monday or is that overscheduling? What day would be best?

This is a very reasonable schedule. Montserrat is not a full day unless you hike so you'll have plenty of time after you return. Figueres is a longer trip but also not a full day. The lines for the Gaudi apartments are not usually more than 30 minutes so I would just fit them in when you have the time rather than pre-book. Pre-booking Sagrada and Parc Guell is a good idea because those get very crowded and are timed entry tickets.

Agree it is a reasonable schedule.
Keep in mind life starts after 10p.m. in Spain so be sure and incorporate a couple of nightsntomstaying up late and being a local.

Great! Thank you to you both for your replies. Very affirming and helpful. We will be sure to rest up mid day, so we can enjoy the Catalan culture and energy that begins at 10 pm and later!

Might also consider the Miro museum. Loved both it and the Dali but the Miro is much closer up the hill.
