Barcelona airport exit stamp

I have a single entry schengen visa. I am travelling from Cairo to Lisbon then to Barcelona.

On my return back trip, i will travel on Alitalia with a 14 hours layover in Rome.

Can i enter Rome or not?

Will they stamp my passport with the exit stamp at Barcelona airport or not?

If they stamped it, can i enter rome with a single entry visa?

Thanks a lot.

Barcelona to Rome is an interior flight, like New York to Washington, so you won't go through passport control for that flight.

By 14 hour layover, I take it that means you will be changing planes in Rome. Your flight from Barcelona to Rome will be an inter-Schengen flight, so you will not go through passport control in Barcelona. When you go to board your flight to Cairo, then you will be exiting the Schengen Treaty zone and get an exit stamp in your passport.
So I'd say, yes, go into Rome for the day by all means. Express trains every 15 minutes to Termini, or local trains that cost a bit less to other Rome stations, also every 15 minutes.

Regarding what the conditions are on your visa, I don't think any of us here would be able to know the restrictions placed on it unless we read it.

I, personally, am neither an Immigration official or Immigration lawyer, nor do I play one on TV. I wouldn't dare to try to know what restrictions would be on an Egyptian citizen's visa. I'm much more familiar with how visas for North Americans work.

You've already asked the same question 12 hours ago in TripAdvisor and have gotten over half a dozen answers saying the same exact thing. What more do you want?

Toboyanas,

I agree with Nigel's reply which makes perfect sense:

Who's to know how long you've been traveling on this visa?
