Barcelona Airport BCN early morning

Hello,
We have an early flight 6:15am on our way home with a layover in CDH
What time would you suggest arriving at BCN for this 6:15am flight?

... what's "home"?
... which date?
... which terminal?

The airport with the code CDH is a small one in Arkansas, so you're not laying over there. Did you mean Copenhagen (CPH), or something else?

If it's Barcelona to Copenhagen, that is a Schengen to Schengen flight, so you need less time than for a flight to a non-Schengen destination. Your passport will act as your ID, but you won't need to go through passport control or customs in BCN.

I think the OP meant Charles de Gaulle (CDG) but instead accidentally hit "H" hence (CDH)

Hi Carolyn,

In principle, flying out on a Saturday should not be as busy, HOWEVER, I see that this is the weekend of Easter so I would expect the airport to be "busier" than normal. At your departure time, it's unlikely that should affect you much, but be forewarned. Since it's an interior EU flight, you will only go thru security, but not passport control.

My suggestion would be to prebook a taxi --as it's the most comfortable way to get to the airport when the Aerobus it's not yet in service-- to arrive at the airport no later than 4:30ish as I am assuming you'll need to check in luggage. If queues, I would expect them at security, hence the reason I suggest that schedule.

To pre-book a taxi, use any of the many companies: Some taxi companies: Taxi Class Rent tel.933070707 www.taxiclassrent.com ||| Barnataxi tel. 933222222 www.barnataxi.com ||| Ràdio Taxi 033 tel.933033033 www.radiotaxi033.com ||| Servi-Taxi tel.933 300 300 www.servitaxi.com ||| Taxi Ecològic tel.932783000 http://taxiecologic.com ||| Taxi Amic tel.934208088 www.taxi-amic-adaptat.com ||| Fono-Taxi tel.933001100 http://www.fonotaxi.net/

Taxi should take under 45' (depending where you're located) to Terminal 1 at the airport, 35' if Terminal 2.

I personally use the first company from time to time, their cars are all Mercedes, very comfy, and the price is exactly the same for all companies as taxis in Barcelona are regulated. Fares for 2019: http://bit.ly/BCNtaxi2019 You can, if you prefer, to prebook thru their own app which you can download in their website. For me, it's more convenient.

Otherwise, any of the other companies I've listed will offer equally good services. For info to anyone else reading: there are a few specialized in transporting disabled people (i.e. Taxi Amic, see above) and they have specially adapted vehicles for wheel-chairs, etc. should you need it.

Enjoy!

Thank you Enric. This will be our first time in Barcelona. We went to Andalusia in 2017 but were not able to get to Barcelona on that trip. This trip we are taking our 17 yo granddaughter. We are staying in the Eixample area.

I have a question about the taxi rate. I'm staying at the Renaissance Barcelona on Pau Claris, 122 and I have a 7:15am flight to Madrid. I'm traveling solo and will have one large suitcase. I looked at the attachment for the taxi rates but couldn't figure out how much the rate would be to BCN. Does anyone have any idea? Enric you said that you suggested to pre-book a taxi which I think is a great idea but I'm curious if the rate would be more? Also any idea what time I should leave for the airport? This is a Monday early morning flight so I'm concerned about traffic.

@Robin that'd be fare T2 -I just realized the sticker I linked above doesn't specify that much, sorry.

T1: 8am-8pm weekdays
T2: 8pm-8am weekdays, 6am-8pm weekends
T3: 8pm-6am weekends

In practicals terms, a fare from your hotel to the airport (traffic permitting) should be 30-35€ in T1, 40€-45€ in T2 and T3... give or take.

When you prebook, the meter starts running a few metres before picking you up in the predetermined address, in any case, it can't display more than 4€ when you board the taxi -as specified in the link of my previous post.

Also, once you reach the destination, if applicable, the driver will add the additional charges (ie. 3.10€ when going to/coming from the airport, 1€ per suitcase (1 briefcase is free), etc.

Monday morning can be busy at the airport, especially to destinations like Madrid -lots of commuting!- so I would arrange a taxi for 5:15, reaching the airport at 5:45ish, queueing for check-in (I assume you have luggage) and then going thru security and to the departure lounge... that should put you at the queue to board the plane by 6:45-7ish. But again, I cannot foresee special circumstances that can delay you, so take this advice at face value.

Traffic can become a problem later on, from 7:00/7:30 onwards.
