Barcelona 8days this week and forescast to rain the whole trip..

Hello,

We are leaving the house to the airport in 6 hours and the weather forecast this week, I am looking at is RAIN for entire staying in Barcelona.. Trying to mentally wrap about my head in this information.

Can somebody please tell me the typical rainy day/ week we can do in Barcelona? How bad rain will be? - we already made reservations for Camp Nou tour, Sangrada Familia and other Gaudi houses.. and few museums.. indoor ones.

Thanks!

You will be fine. It might only rain half the time however wear a waterproof coat and bring a small umbrella. Barcelona will still go on and it doesn't rain inside:) There are museums, markets and shops to keep you dry.

Bah, I wouldn't worry much. Besides, I don't know the site you searched but the Catalan National Weather Service says otherwise: http://meteo.cat/prediccio/municipal/080193 Only tomorrow can be a bit miserable, and maybe even Mon morning, but that's it.

Besides, rain in Barcelona -in most cities in the South of Europe, for that matter- it's not the end of the world, you can continue doing your normal stuff, well, less the beach of course.

Important, as I have seen this a few times on this forum already, the name is not Sangrada Familia but rather Sagrada Familia (drop the n) - La Sangrada Familia literally means "the Bloody Family" while La Sagrada Familia means "the Holy Family".

In general, spring is one of the rainiest times in Europe, but in my experience weather forecasts are a lot more accurate about temperature than about precipitation. If I'm in an area where rain is fairly likely, I just carry my (hooded) rain jacket and a folding umbrella every day. I have learned that it can rain when no rain is forecast, and I can remain dry even if it's supposed to rain.

I haven't been to Europe at this time of year (though I'm leaving for southern Spain on April 8), but I've spent almost 500 days there since May 2015, and in all that time I have encountered 6 downpours. Only one of them was an all-day affair. Other rainy days just had fairly brief showers. I'm sure it will not be as bad as you are anticipating.

It would be a good idea, though, to have a list of indoor possibilities. Take another look at your guidebook to see if there are places you want to add to your list of potential destinations. You might also review the Things To Do list on TripAdvisor. Barcelona has lots of interesting museums.

I wouldn't worry about it, certainly you don't need to start packing heavy rain gear! Aemet is the best website for Spain weather forecasts (it has an English version too). It is, for example, showing rain tomorrow in Barcelona, but only for a few hours and only at 1mm or less - which isn't a lot anyway. This isn't a whole day raining cats and dogs. Don't let concern about it blight your holiday.

I hope you didn’t sweat it, as it’s well-known that the rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain.
