We would like to visit in 2025. Is the Barcelona government doing anything about the anti-tourist protestors who are intimidating visiting foreigners?
My guess is unless it gets violent, the government is going to side with the voters and not the tourists.
I'd be more worried about the rising trend of violent crime and theft in Barcelona.
I was in Barcelona in May, for 2 weeks, and I saw no violent crime, and no protests. I also saw no pickpockets. (I keep my valuables zipped up.) Barcelona is one of the best places I've been to. But don't bother with La Ramblas. That is way too touristy. Passieg de Gracia, Rambla de Catalunya, those are really nice places to walk around. Barcelona is a really beeeautiful city. And Montserrat was a highlight.
I wouldn't avoid Barcelona because of the protests. It's perfectly safe.
Thanks! Much appreciated!
