Hi!
1. My wife would like to buy a silk scarf when we visit Barcelona next month and would like to know the best place.
2. Some time ago perhaps Enric mentioned the name of the best bakery near the Sagrada Familia. Does anyone remember?
Hi, Roger
I don't know about any bakery near La Sagrada Familia, but I do highly recommend Escriba.
Here's the website: http://www.escriba.es/
We went to the Gran Via location which is the flagship store. You can see them make all the goodies there.
I would avoid the Las Ramblas shop because it is small and you know everything was shipped from Gran Via anyway.
We rented an apt. nearby. We went there in the morning for freshly baked croissants and breakfast items. We went back in the evening for dessert. Regret not trying their chocolate bon-bons. Next time...
Is Lyon in your future travel plans? That's the place to get silk scarves. Maybe your wife might want to wait.

That be Mora, in Avinguda de Gaudí, 60 -but it's not a bakery, it's a patisserie.
It's a good patisserie but I wouldn't say "the best", just happens to be near Sagrada Família, on your way to Sant Pau Recinte Modernista -should you add it to your itinerary, which you should... it's worthwhile!
But I agree with Michelle, there are other patisseries in the city which I would consider better, such as Escribà, Bubó, Foix... quite a number of artisans we have in this city!
