Hi, first time Spain traveler this September! I've purchased tickets on an Ave train from Sevilla to Atocha Station in Madrid. I noticed I have Cercanias codes on the tickets. Will we have to switch trains to get to the Atocha station or is this just the free transfer to a Cercanias train if we choose to use it? Thanks.
We took the same train a couple of years ago. I don't believe we had to change trains.
The best source of info I found on training in Europe is the web site "The Man in Seat 61". http://www.seat61.com/Spain-trains.htm#.V6uDXsywWGg
The trains in Spain are comfortable and easy to use. We loved Sevilla and Madrid.
Have a great trip.
No, there is no transfer on this route. AVE trains to/from Seville go to Atocha.
The AVE train travels directly from Sevilla to Madrid ( Atocha station) with a possible stop in Córdoba, so you will not have to transfer trains.
You're are correct. The Cercanias train will be free (for the same date of traveling on the AVE), so you will need to get the Cercanias ticket from one of the automated kiosks (using the code provided) at the Atocha station, or from the Cercanias ticket counter.
Have a wonderful trip!
Thanks to all for the speedy replies - exactly what I needed to know. We're very excited about the trip!
