Ave train from Madrid to Cuenca

I’m trying to figure out booking a train from Madrid to Cuenca. What I’ve read from other posts is that it’s about an hour on the fast train... but it seems to come up as 3 hour rides so I must be looking in the wrong place . I’ve tried the loco and paxtrax site... can’t remember exact names. We’d be traveling on June 19.

Thanks

You may be imputing for the wrong station. Cuenca has two stations, the one for the high speed trains is called Estación de Cuenca-Fernando Zóbel. However, I don't think they currently have the tickets available for June 19.

Here is the link to the route directly from the Renfe website:

Also note that the Estación Fernando Zóbel is not in the city center of Cuenca, you will have to take a bus or taxi into town.

Timetables in Spain change in early June. This shortens the booking window (usually 2-3 months) to 6 weeks or even as little as a month: check regularly, the tickets for June 19 should be up for sale within a week or two.
