Atocha station

Hi, This will be my first time taking the hi speed trains in Spain. We'll be traveling from Barcelona to Sevilla in October. My question is whether 32 minutes is enough time to change trains in the Atocha station. I understand that there is an arrival and departure area. Thanks

Usually that would be just enough time provided your train arrives on time. However, if your departing from a different area, say the Baja area you will need to go thru an airport type of security checkpoint and the bags will go through and x-ray machine. Lines can be long and 32 minutes may not be enough. If your traveling on two different tickets then it's your problem. If you bought the tickets as one continuous journey it will Renfe problem. Trains to Seville usually leave from the Baja lines which are downstairs. While the train from Barcelona is pulling up the Atocha station, move to the front car, get by the door at the front of the train with your luggage, and hit the ground running. Remember the journey is part of the adventure! Have a wonderful trip, J

Thanks. Maybe I'll choose a connection with 1 hour in between. My husband is not into sprinting.
