Are Advance Tickets Needed for the Alcazar or any other popular sites in Sevilla?
Has anyone been to the Metropol Parasol? I have read some mixed reviews about it. It looks architecturally very interesting to me being the largest wooden structure in Spain if not the world. Is the view from the rooftop better during the daytime, or at sunset/evening, or night time?
Are the Roman Ruins in the basement worthwhile? And has anyone been to the Marketplace there is it a good market for local foods?

WE had an apartment in Macarena and walked by the Parasol every day on the way into town and had drinks and food there one night. I don't get it. It is not very attractive; don't get the point.

We were there in May and had no significant lines for the Alcazar (fabulous by the way) or other key sights. The access to the royal apartments was only in the morning when we were there and we missed them so get there early if you want to see them. I thought the Alcazar was on a par with the Alhambra in terms of its beauty.

If you want to climb the tower of the cathedral, get there early and be among the first to go up, to avoid crowding at the top.

I ended up at the Metropol Parasol by chance while waiting for my timed entry to the newly-opened Palacio de las Dueñas. I mention this site because it's only been open for 3 months and not on anyone's radar yet . . . well worth a couple hours. The Roman ruins (antiquarium) are pretty extensive and the entrance fee is minimal, with very good computer presentations at each point.
