Arab baths - yay or nay?

Considering an Arab bath experience in Cordoba. Would be interested in hearing feedback from those that have done this - whether in Cordoba or elsewhere in Spain. Thanks in advance!

I visited this one in Seville a couple of years ago. It was a pleasant, organized, relaxing experience. I'm not a big massage enthusiast, but gave one a try, and that's a feature for many visitors. I'd say that it's fun to do if you have time, but not top priority if you don't.

All I can say is that many female friends here in Barcelona use this regularly: http://airedebarcelona.com/en/ and they all love it, but of course, it all depends on your expectations.

Yet another good place for relaxing, massaging and having other beauty treatments are "balnearios" (Spanish for health resorts): http://www.balnearios.org/en

My husband and I stayed in a small hotel that featured Arab baths in Cordoba and enjoyed the experience. The hotel room was clean but very basic in style. The baths, which were included in our bed and breakfast package, were a welcome relief after days of sight-seeing---very relaxing and great for tired muscles and joints. We did not pay extra for a massage, but we talked with other guests who enjoyed the experience. The multiple pools looked well-maintained. Everyone wore swim suits and if I remember correctly, towels, shower shoes, and perhaps robes were provided. Feel free to write if you have specific questions.

Thanks for these replies. For some reason, I was expecting a more, "historical" type experience, but this sounds a lot like a spa experience at home. I think we will pass, unless we are really feeling it when we get there! Thanks again!

I went to the Arab bath in Cordoba and I totally enjoyed it. It isn't expensive, you can book it when you are there. I had time in the evening so why not? relaxing, really nice. Sometimes you just need to rest and relax. Good option, I would recommend it! (besides, it is totally different from anything in the US)
