HI
I am trying to find a 2 bedroom apartment to rent from Feb 27-March 5. I am trying to find two 2bedroom in the same bldg for 2 families. Would like to be close to city center, Placa de Catelunya. Does anyone have any suggestions of a place that would have two apartments?
I'm usually a solo traveler, so I have no apartment guidance for you, but I know booking.com lists apartments as well as hotel rooms, so you might take a look there. The hotel reviews on that website have been reliable for me. You cannot leave a review unless you've actually stayed at the property.
Casp74 Apartments is lovely and has both one bedroom and 2 bedroom apartments (and a staffed front desk). But I didn’t see availability for your dates.
** IMPORTANT **
Barcelona has a large number of hotels and tourist apartments and is well accustomed to hosting several million visitors each year—over 15 million, in fact, for a city with a population of just under 2 million. The city and its infrastructure are generally well-equipped to handle this volume without too many issues, although there are occasional moments of overcrowding.
That said, beyond 'regular tourists', know that Barcelona also hosts various fairs and exhibitions throughout the year, attracting hundreds of thousands of extra visitors. These events, combined with international sporting competitions (like F1, motorcycle races, regattas) and celebrity concerts, which attract even more visitors, sometimes cause hotel and apartment prices in the city to skyrocket—sometimes to extreme levels—while availability becomes scarce, forcing some event attendees to look for more affordable accommodations outside the city.
At the end of February, for example, several events take place simultaneously, including the Mobile World Congress, which alone attracts over 100,000 visitors during its brief run. During this time, finding a hotel room or apartment becomes significantly harder, and prices surge dramatically. This year's dates are Mon, Mar 3, 2025 – Thu, Mar 6, 2025
Also, with all due respect and love, Robyn, I’ve got to say—you’re starting a bit late... As a rule of thumb, if you want to score a good deal in Barcelona, you’ve got to start looking much earlier ;)
