apartment in example area of Barcelona

Hi! I was told to stay in the Eixample area. I know that it is quite large and was wondering if someone could tell me if this location is good? The address is Calle Industria, does that make sense? I am hoping to be centrally located and will be traveling with 2 teenagers. Is this close to train station? Thank you in advance.

It's a long street. If it's close to metro at 'Sant Pau | Dos de Maig' then I'd say it's a good location - close to Hospital Sant Pau and Sagrada Familia. The end near Passeig Sant Joan would be OK, but without a metro stop handy.

That's a rather long street. It would be helpful to have the full address. I'd say it's rather far from the Barri Gotic and port areas and would probably mean hopping on the Metro to go to most of the sights. I'd prefer to be closer to Pl. Catalunya. However, this may be what you want if you're looking for an area that is more residential than touristy. You would be well-positioned to visit both La Sagrada Familia and Sant Pau, as David noted.

Depending on exactly where you are along Carrer de la Industria, you'd have about a 1-hour walk to Sants Station. Few people would do that, of course, so the question is: How close are you to a Metro station?

213 Calle Industria. That make more sense? Is this close to metro and in central location?
We haven't made our daily plans yet but I want to be sure that I am not spending a lot of our time traveling to and from our apartment. Its our first time in Barcelona.

That's very close to Sant Pau and only 0.6 miles from La Sagrada Familia, but it's at least 2 miles to Pl. Catalunya and the Cathedral (in the Barri Gotic). I'd prefer not to be that far out, but there are always trade-offs, and you're trying to house a family. Much depends on how many days you're going to be in the city and how many times you're going to want to go to areas like the Barri Gotic. The apartment is less than 2 blocks from the Sant Pau/Dos de Maig Metro Station, so you'll have easy access to the Metro system. It won't be super-quick because you'll need to change trains to get to most of the typical tourist destinations.

I've linked to Google Maps. You can enter various starting points and see how far they are from the apartment on foot or via public transportation.

We are only talking about 20-30mins by metro for any journey you are likely to take - 6 stops or so and a maximum of one change to another line (of which you have 3 to choose from). You will know you are in Barcelona when you walk to the end of your street and swing in to Avinguda de Gaudi and get the most uplifting view of his incomplete basilica. Lots of shops and restaurants close by too.
