Anybody fly LEVEL Airlines? How was it?

Curious about the seating in both economy and premium economy cabins. Thanks!

I flew LEVEL, a budget airline that is a subsidiary of Spain’s Iberia Airline, for my return flight to the U.S. on an open-jaw itinerary in September. Premium Economy seats are far more comfortable and necessary. Otherwise , only buy a very low-cost coach seat because the upgrade to an extra-leg-space seat for about $150 so as not to be crammed into a regular coach seat with inadequate space. (Oh, and only three bathrooms out of four were operating for the 200 or so coach passengers who found the meal and beverage carts blocking their way to the bathrooms during about 90% of the flight). and the cost of a checked bag for about $100 ( if your carry-on weighs more than 22lbs they will make you check it and charge accordingly. Split your luggage weight between your jacket, your personal item and your 22-lb carry-on). Top it off with meals and you’re looking at about $275 each way added to the cost of a basic coach ticket for a transatlantic flight.
If you don’t find a transatlantic base fare for around $450 or less each way, I would shop another airline.

Periscope, thanks for looking it up for me. I know that I can look it up too of course, prefer to have a chat sometimes - often with an online chat I end up learning more things that I didn't know i wanted to know :)

Kenko thanks!

I had noticed that the difference between the economy and premium fare was usually pretty small, and it definitely sounds like premium is worth the extra money.

I'm always curious about the fascination for deep-discount airlines.

There is no-leg up on the legacy carriers in deep-discount fares ... it's always been pays your money, takes your chances.

I few Level, the premium seats had footrests which keeps my hips from hurting. For the price it was fine. The seats recline too far and the folks in front of me put them all the way back regardless of being asleep or awake, or eating but that can happen on any airline. Know if you have to contact the airline it will be on Europe time. j

I am looking to book a flight from Barcelona back to Boston in early 2025 following the completion of a Norwegian cruise around the Iberian peninsula.

I want to fly in some sort of Premium Economy (not Business or First) so that seats are very comfortable for the long flight. The costs for a Premium Economy fare on a LEVEL airlines flight, operated by Iberia, appear to be significantly lower than all others I have found.

I have searched for reviews of LEVEL on the internet and they seem to be all over the place. Some think they are great, and are just the same seats on the same airplanes, but offered by a different provider. Other reviews wouldn't touch LEVEL with the proverbial 10 foot pole. On one forum in particular, the reviews were so hilariously bad, they almost HAD to be fake.

Does anyone have very recent, real world experience flying Premium Economy on LEVEL? If so, what should I be aware of, look out for, be concerned about?

Thanks.

As long as it stays in the air and remains relatively LEVEL in flight, I can survive any cheap seat to save a few $$ for the next trip.

We had a flight from Los Angeles to Barcelona on Level last month, although booking through American Airlines, it was supposed to have been Iberia Airlines. Our Level flight was postponed 3 hours the day before the flight, with no notification to us. I found out by checking flight status. After arriving at the airport it was delayed another hour. Our economy seats were very tight; if the person in front of us was reclined, we had to do gymnastics to get out of the seat for bathroom trips. There was no entertainment available, no complimentary beverages except water. We were one of a small number that received meals, presumably because of the booking through American Airlines. I personally will avoid flying with them in the future and I complained to American Airlines about our experience.

Interested to see the responses here as I am flying Level this summer. I booked through Iberia but did not realize until after booking when I read the fine print on the ticket that it is a Level flight.
