Another Madrid/Barcelona taxi question

Is it easy to catch taxis at Madrid's Airport, the Atocha Station in Madrid and Barcelona-Sants Station in Barcelona?
We are planning on using taxis to get to our hotels from each of those locations. Not sure if I should pre-book taxis or will it be relatively quick to grab one outside of the airport or station? I have traveled to some places where there are large lines to grab a taxi, so it is well-worth the prebook.

Thank you!

In the Madrid airport and Barcelona we just walked out to the taxi stand and got in line. Plenty of taxis.

Lines at Atocha can get very long, depending on the time of day. When you are incoming as I remember you have to walk to the other side of the terminal which is quite a distance. I'm not sure there's any way around doing that, hopefully someone will weigh in on that.

We are in Spain at the moment.

From Madrid airport we just caught a taxi as there is a fixed fare of €30- to any city hotel. We waited only a couple of minutes. We caught the taxi around 4:30pm.

For Atocha to our hotel we used the metro. Easy, inexpensive.

For Barcelona Sants we also used the metro. Also easy and inexpensive.

I've taken taxis from MAD's T4 many times. After early, transatlantic arrivals, there is barely a line. A couple of weeks ago I landed at 14:30 and encountered the longest line I'd ever seen there. There was an endless stream of taxis and the line moved quickly—I was in a car within 5 minutes or so.

I can't speak to the others. It's been years since I've been in Barcelona, and I've only walked or taken the metro from Atocha.

Just remember everywhere has a taxi line - some places the taxis are lined up 3 lanes across. Get in line and take the next one when it’s your turn. It’s very orderly. I stood in a few long lines but they moved really fast.
