Annual State Museum Card

I was researching what “city passes” were available in Madrid and I came across the Annual State Museum Card in Spain which seems to give unlimited access for a year to certain museums in Spain, for around 36 euro. We are going to be traveling through Spain for about a month this summer, and seems like a pretty good deal on this card (plus the chance to use it again within a year if we happen to find ourselves in Spain again). Anyone have any experience with pros or cons of this card?

I visited http://www.madrid.es/portales/munimadrid/es/Inicio/El-Ayuntamiento/Atencion-a-la-ciudadania/Abonos-y-tarjetas-de-los-museos-estatales?vgnextfmt=default&vgnextoid=33cbe332d1f58110VgnVCM2000000c205a0aRCRD&vgnextchannel=b25cb993602c4310VgnVCM2000000c205a0aRCRD

to learn more about Tarjeta anual de Museos Estatales and found

Then, I looked up individual admission tariffs.

En Madrid
Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía - €10 (lower prices available depending upon time-of-day and day-of-week)
Museo Nacional del Prado - €15 (lower prices available...)
Museo Arqueológico Nacional - €3
Museo Cerralbo - €3
Museo de América - free?
Museo del Traje. CIPE - €3
Museo Nacional de Antropología - €3
Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas - €3
Museo del Romanticismo - €3
Museo Sorolla - €3

I think you need talk to someone in Madrid as it appears to me that, as usual, optimization decisions are complicated.

I think this is the list of covered sites for the card Craig uncovered:

I note that coverage is quite patchy outside Madrid, with nothing in Barcelona. I enjoyed the archaeological museum in Merida, but probably not so many foreign tourists (other than Portuguese) find their way to that city. Exclusion of the Thyssen in Madrid and the Santa Cruz in Toledo is a shame.
