Andulusia trip

I have 8 days (including arrival and departure days) to split among Seville, Cordoba, and Granada. How do I decide how much time to spend in each? This will be around November 12-20, so hopefully the main tourist sites won't be too crowded are hard to get around in.)

I would do at least 2 nights in Cordoba and Granada and at least 4 in Sevilla. To me the most interesting sites were the Mezquita (Cordoba) and the Alhambra(Granada) and the most interesting cities were Sevilla and Cordoba. Cordoba is fairly small, Sevilla is huge, I believe the 4th largest city in Spain. We were in Andalusia at approximately the same time last year. Given what we know about crowds and weather in the region, we feel November is a good time to visit, though you will want a sweater and lightweight jacket. Even at that time of year, you should reserve the Alcazar and the Alhambra ahead of time. The Alhambra, about 3 months in advance.

I agree with Jules allocation of nights. FYI, I recommend visiting Casa di Pilatos in Seville, a hidden gem. It's a small palace with Mudejar architecture. And in Cordoba, I recommend Palacio de Viana, another hidden gem. It's a stunning Renaissance palace with 12 very pretty patios, each one different than the others. None of these were crowded at all in September, so it was very refreshing to get away from the maddening crowds, although I assume November won't be overly crowded.

Hi from Wisconsin,
While in Granada, if you have an interest in over dressed churches there is a basilika not far from the cathedral. St John of God Basilika. Find Calle San Jeronimo where it dead ends into the cathedral. Walk away from the cathedral on Jeronimo until Jeronimo ends. The Basilika is across the street on your right about two buildings down. If this place doesn't make your jaw drop, Then you don't ever have to visit a church, basilika or catheral the rest of your life. Do make sure to get up stairs in the basilika.

On the way from cathedral to Basilika you pass very near to the city market.

A quick call out. the city paper maps available in TI offices in Andalusia put east at the top of the map. I have never been anywhere in the world where North isn't the default for the top of an official map. But, in Andalusia, east (or 10 degrees off east) seems the standard going back to at least 1930.

It sounds like you have 8 nights and 7 days on the ground, is this correct?I

If this is correct then I'd suggest spending 1-2 nights in Córdoba, 2 nights in Granada and 4 nights in Sevilla.

Will you be flying in and out of Madrid? If so, then do consider spending your last night there.

Do book you Alhambra Tickets soon for best time selection. November tickets will most likely become available on August 1st.

Enjoy your trip!

Priscilla, we are actually flying in to Oporto, Portugal, a week before, and taking a repositioning cruise from Barcelona 3 days later. Haven't decided how to get to Barcelona yet. Looked at flying from Granada on Vueling, but they have such horrible reviews, we are rethinking it. Of course, since we are not in a rush, it wouldn't matter if they were delayed hours! I have spent time in Barcelona, but the spousal unit hasn't. But he is totally uninterested in Sagrada Famila, or Gaudi, so glad I have already visited the church and his houses! The cruise stops in Mallorca, Malaga, Cadiz, Madeira and the Azores, so that is why I am concentrating on Cordoba, Granada and Seville.
