Andalusian School of Equestrian Art

Our tour starts in Cordoba in October. I would like to see the Andalusian School of Equestrian performance which shows it in Jerez. How do I get from Cordoba to Jerez?

Presumably you won’t have a car?

There is a direct train service between Córdoba and Jerez, although some services necessitate a change in Seville. It’s too early to buy tickets for October. See the renfe.com website.

I stayed in Jerez a few years ago and visited the riding school on a non show day. On show days, you just get to see the performance (you can’t take photos). On the day I went, they give you a tour of the stables and behind the scenes, which is very interesting. You can then watch the riders in the practice arena for as long as you like and take photos. There are also a couple of museums on the same site so we spent about 4 hours there.

We just returned from Spain a few days ago. Another option is to see the Royal Palace Equestrian show in Cordoba. We got the premium tix and could watch them practice before show and enter early to see and pet the horses before the show. There is a flamenco dancer who starts and ends the show. In addition, the horses with riders dance to the music. We really enjoyed the show. Easy to purchase tix on line.

By train it is 1h 45 minutes each way at a minimum from Córdoba to Jerez.

If you want to see a performance, there is a very nice one in Córdoba:

We went to this about 10:years ago and even my husband loved it. It is much more varied than the Lipizzaner performance in Vienna.

According to this blog, you can also visit the stables and attend a practice in the daytime:
