Andalusia with 87 year old grandma looking for private driver

Hi, we are a group of 15 travelers with babies and an 87 year old grandmother who's still strong to walk. This trip is for grandma's 87th birthday. I appreciate your help in guiding us with our itinerary.

December 30-January 1 Seville

January 2 Day trip Seville to Cordoba

January 3 Day trip Seville to Ronda or Cadiz

January 4 -5 Granada

January 6 Malaga

Here are my questions:

  1. Can you recommend a private driver? Trains are ok for the adults but might be too much for grandma and the babies:(

  2. Do you have suggestions better than Ronda or Cadiz?

  3. Are there shops open/things to do in Seville on December 31 or January 1?

  4. Since we are a group of 15, I'd prefer to hire a local guide to help us with restaurant reservations and other things. Do you have a recommendation?

Thank you!

Joanna

I can probably help you with a driver, but I'd need to know if you would want a driver fluent in English.

With that short amount of time, I would plan to visit Sevilla, Cordoba and Granada....adding other cities would be far too rushed.

Where are you entering Spain--Madrid? Sevilla?

Hello! Thank you. Do you suggest 2 nights in Cordoba and just skipping Ronda? We prefer to limit our hotel transfers. If the driver is not a tour guide, he doesn't have to speak English, but preferably we can still communicate with him should questions arise during the day trips.

I coordinated a trip to Spain for 10 people about 3 years ago and used the services of Spain Private Guides. We used a combination of trains and private drivers to get from place to place (Toledo, Granada, Cadiz, Cordoba). Spain Private Guides set up the private drivers (with mini busses) and also provided private guides where I requested them. I did the train reservations myself, but if you would prefer someone to coordinate that for you, they would provide that service. I am sure they could also assist with local restaurant reservations and/or lodgings, activities, etc. They were very flexible with my trip and willing to do as much or as little as I wanted.

They were excellent and I would use them again.

For a private driver, I often ask my hotels and have always been pleased; tha way, you can put the charge on your hotel bill.

Another option is this company:

So you could compare prices between all of those options...

Sorry, I missed the fact that this was a group of 15 people!!
That's why you are having trouble..sorry I have no other ideas, except to break the group up into two vans.

Just a note to make sure you plan your activities around the Christmas and New Year's festivities, which peak on January 6 (King's Day). It is a fantastic time to visit Spain, with parades, celebrations, nativities, holiday markets, lights. But make sure you check openings/closings; sites and restaurants will be closed at times. Make sure you have meal reservations or plan accordingly, especially on New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, and January 5 and 6.

Have a wonderful trip!
