Hello, I m planning my trip to the Andalusia region in mid November, based on historical weather data in 2021, the avg. temp ranges 50-70. That’s very comfortable weather. Would like to know how was your experience weather wise if if have travel during November in Andalusia. Thanks
I visited two Andalucian cities, Cordoba and Jerez de la Frontera, in early December, 2019, and I found the weather to be great. I don't recall the temperatures precisely, but I have a strong aversion to heat, yet I never felt uncomfortable. Also, I don't recall any rain; if there was any, it wasn't enough for me to remember. That, in any case, was my experience -- it's possible, of course, that this was not a characteristic December week.
All my previous trips to Spain have been in November, and I've usually had little problem with the weather, though this 2019 trip was my first excursion into Andalucia.
Both of our trips to Andalusia have been in late October and November. We had beautiful weather both trips, sunny and warm, never hot.
Last November, the weather in Andalusia was ideal. Highs in the high 60s, quite cool at night. Two days out of seven it rained; the other days were sunny.
Looking at our Andalucía photos from late October 2011, I wore short sleeves during the day, and my wife wore a jacket on a couple occasions. November is pretty much the same.
Anecdotal info and avg temps tell you nothing. If you want to know what the weather has been like in the past, go to timeanddate.com. On the weather drop-down menu, choose "past week." You can get detailed actual conditions for every day for any month for the last 10 years. Just plunk in the city you want. Most are there.
On the one hand, I agree with the preceding comment; there are good websites that can provide typical weather information at any time of the year, and for many places in the world.
On the other hand, as a professional research methodologist, I would not agree -- not in principle -- that anecdotal information "tells you nothing." Example: I'm on a long automobile trip on a major motorway, and my map shows that a lonely county road --say, County Route 2 -- would be a significant shortcut. But at a highway cafe, a waitress tells me that Route 2 is closed due to a mudslide, and a bit later, at a highway rest stop, I get the same information from another traveller. So as I approach the turn-off to County Route 2, what do I do? Do I just pass it, and stay on the main highway? Or do I turn onto Route 2, on the grounds that I haven't yet seen the official Highway Department report, and the information I've received so-far is "just anecdotal"?
(I should add that the a main purpose of forums like this one is to exchange anecdotal commentary, not professional research results.)
But a road closure about which you have input from folks with recent experience is not the same thing as weather commentary from folks who may have made one 4-day trip to the area years ago.
I've spent time on the Costa Del Sol during most parts of the year, November is often good weather, comfortable temperatures averaging about 18c with nightime temperatures in the low teens. Perfect for walking and exploring.
The weather is getting less reliable, so average weather stats aren’t much help. I have had generally pleasant, warm weather, but also torrential rain in November. Daylight hours are shorter. It’s colder at elevation at night.
