I've seen similar questions here but not with these exact details. This may be 6 one-way and 1/2 dozen the other but I know sometimes Google maps and Rome2Rio doesn't always have the big picture. Late September 2026 we have 16 nights in Spain. From US into MAD 9/17/26 and out of BCN 10/3/26. Will be be going by train Madrid>Seville>Granada then fly from Granada to Barcelona. Or I could reverse this such as Madrid>Granada>Seville and fly from Seville to Barcelona. With 4 nights at each stop and day trips sprinkled in at each (Cordoba,Cadiz, Nerja etc..). Both SVQ and GRX have direct flights to BCN so the decision on the direction of my route boils down to what is the most efficient with the trains, or possibly even rent a car for the Seville/Granada part of the trip to visit some off the beaten path areas.
- Madrid 4 nights>Seville 4 nights>Granada 4 nights>fly from Granada to Barcelona 4 nights OR
- Madrid 4 nights>Granada 4 nights>Seville 4 nights>fly from Seville to Barcelona 4 nights?
Thanks
