We are considering a 2 week trip to Andalusia in October 2016. Would like to stay in an apartment or house near the white villages. Also want to visit Sevilla, Alhambra, Granada, Gibraltar and Tangiers. We will have a car. Love to have local experiences. Looking for suggestions on what area to stay in as well as anything else.
I would suggest splitting your 2 weeks ...
Week#1
Rent an apartment in the centre of Seville with no need for a car. Day trips to Jerez, Arcos de la Fronterra and Cadiz by train.
Week#2
Look for a village/hill location near Antequerra, between Ronda and Granada.
While it sounds great to settle in to one (or two) places and daytrip to see the sights, they really are too far apart.
How many are you?

Use viamichelin.com to estimate driving times. I think you'll do better changing locations every 3-4 nights. Where you start and end depends on your flight options. The airports in Andalusia are small, so there aren't many options. You may end up flying in/out of Madrid.
My preferred route would be:
Cordoba (2 nights) > Sevilla (3-4) > Ronda (3) > Granada (3) If you have 2-3 more nights, you could add Jerez after Sevilla with day trips to Cadiz (by train) and/or Arcos (by Bus). Or you could add Malaga after Ronda with a day trip to Gibraltar. Rent a car when you leave Sevilla (or Jerez) and drop it when you get to Granada. I'd skip Gibraltar and Tangiers, as being too out-of-the-way for what you'll get.
