Anyone been on a RS tours that time of year? We can take heat, but if everything is scorched from the hot summer, I'd rather wait a year and go in the spring. TIA
It could still be warm in mid-September. Our last two trips to Andalucía were in 2011 and 2014. In October 2011 the region was having a heat wave and it was in the 90s most days. In early September 2014 we were in eastern Andalucía and it was equally warm.
You can find out recent or past weather from a number of sites. The link is for Sevilla for last September.
Your odds of not frying are much, much better in the early spring (by which I mean April).
Our trips to Andalusia have been in March. Pleasant daytime temps and spring wildflowers. I can’t speak to how scorched things will be in September but a good portion of the landscape consists of olive trees, which are drought and heat tolerant. They should be pretty with fruit in September as it’s the beginning of the harvest season. That said, it will still be plenty hot there in September, but if you can take the heat, I wouldn’t rule out traveling then.
It's quite an arid region so the plants are suited to the climate. Outside of the regularly watered and manicured golf courses and resort grounds you won't see much in the way of green grass at any time of the year. I've visited at all times of the year and I can't say I've noticed much difference. Are there any plants in particular that you'd like to see at their best?
