ALSA bus from Granada to Seville

We are going to Seville from Granada in July. We will take ALSA bus. Wondering if I need to book the bus ticket online in advance (now)? Thanks

We took the ALSA bus from Cordoba to Granada, and then from Granada to Malaga. I did book our tickets online in advance. I prefer to have those things taken care of before I leave home. I do remember that both buses we took were full when we boarded. So I recommend buying the tickets now. We were there in September.

No need to book this far in advance they have regular departures to Seville . I did that route 3 years ago also in July and booked my trip the night before because the website was showing only 8 seats. But we have use them in other routes and get the tickets when we get to the station for the next departure . Granada is lovely but will be hot 🥵 in July not so bad in Sevilla . ENJOY

Agreeing with the folks above, not necessary but you can if you'd like! I was coincidentally looking at the schedules in the reverse of yours (Seville to Granada) and saw a good promo price so I went ahead and bought the tickets. I also wanted to be able to choose which bus station in Seville we would leave from so I thought buying early might make sure we were able to get that route.

Seville and Granada are far enough apart that their weather can vary, but statistics show that Seville tends to be hotter--not surprising since it's at sea level and Granada is at an elevation of 2400 feet. I would expect both to fall in the "miserable" category in July. Days over 100 F are extremely common.

It sounds as if they may be close to opening the AVE line into Granada, which could reduce the demand for bus tickets but might also lead to schedule changes/reductions (speculation on my part). I wouldn't feel the need to buy a ticket now. But this is a mission-critical transportation leg, so I'd probably buy the ticket right before leaving home. I don't like to make unnecessary purchases before I'm certain the trip is going to happen.
