Is there an elevator/escalator to St. Barbara Castle in Alicante, or is taxi service available to AND FROM the Castle? I'm guessing getting a taxi to the Castle may not be too difficult, but getting one down may be another matter altogether. Is the walk down a continuous grade or are there steps along the way? Also, is there a place to get a bite to eat and toilet facilities at the castle grounds? Thanks for any help.
There is an elevator and a snack bar -- but check ahead once you know your dates b/c it's down for maintenance right now:

Taxi and microbus info is there on their web page:

The elevator to the castle may not be where one might expect it. It’s along Avda Juan Batista Lafora. You can find in on Google maps; Ascensor del Castillo de Santa Bárbara. There is no parking at the castle. One picks up the minibuses at Plaza Doctor Gómez Ulla in front of the MARQ. They run differently at different times of the year, so check the website for the time of year you’re going. The price per trip is 1,45€, paid for with credit or debit card. No cash. They run every 20 minutes; more frequently when cruise ships are in port. There’s also a link to a bus route map on the website,
Thanks for the responses, every one is helpful to me.
