Get the Rick Steves' book on Spain and check out the recommendations for tour guides in Granada. Two years ago we use one of the recommended tour guides and it was a good experience touring the Alhambra with the tour guide.

If all fails, there is an audioguide that is decent. Hint - if you are using a cable to connect earbuds, don't let the cable touch/hit the front of your phone. It disrupts the audio. If it does happen, restarting cures the problem.
For what it is worth, I was stunned on my recent visit to see so many walking rapidly through the Nasrid Palace, gardens, and Alcazaba barely noting anything. No guides, no audio, no apparent observation. I wasn't alone in my observation - had the conversation with several other visitors both during and after my visit. To each his own, I guess. Just surprised to see at such a unique site.

YES! Use Margarita info@alhambratours.com . She took my sister and I on a wonderful 3 hour tour 2 weeks ago. Incredibly knowledgeable, interesting and interested. She loves Granada and sharing it with others.
