I have been on the offical Alhambra website trying to purchase a couple of tickets for a night visit on March 15th. The site indicates that the tickets can be purchased in 30 minutes and on 2 occasions the session timed out with 2 seconds remaining. Is it normal that the purchase is timed like this?

The timer is indicating that you have 30 minutes to purchase the tickets, after that it kicks you out. You do not need to wait 30 minutes to purchase the tickets, just purchase them immediately.
