Alhambra-- TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT

Hi. We will be there in June and tickets to go visit the Alhambra are sold out. I have been 3x but YEARS ago when this craze of sold out tickets was not an issue. Any private tours for two families-- 8 people?? Thanks.

I assume it will be no problem to arrange a private tour, but I would work on it now, not wait until your arrival in Granada. Entry tickets will still have to be acquired, somehow.

Two other possibilities have been mentioned on this forum:

  • You may be able to get tickets through your hotel, at a slight up-charge.
  • You may be able to buy Granada Cards for everyone and obtain tickets for sold-out times that way. I do not know how that works, and I make no promises that it will be successful for you. Needing eight tickets for the same time slot may be a complication.

Check with your hotel. A couple of years we obtained our tickets that way and there was no up charge then. A block of tickets, at that time, we set aside for hotel guests.

Hi Frank,
I have the same issue, and as I have not yet booked my hotel, I am hoping to secure tickets through a hotel that I book.

You mentioned you have done this in the past, can you provide the name of your hotel or recommend any others?

Thank you

Rich

Not much consolation, but most venues don’t sell all the tickets online. Some are held back for those who are unable to prepurchase. If all else fails, show up as early as possible on the day you’d like to visit and see what’s available. You can email the Alhambra ahead of time and ask if that’s the case and even an option.

B4,

Another option would be to buy the Dobla de Oro General tickets which are still available on the Alhambra website for most of the month of June.
There are a limited number of tickets available so book them ASAP before they disappear! ;-)

If you have any children under 12 in your group, they get free admission but you still need to request tickets for them.

If you cannot book 8 tickets together, you may consider selecting two different time periods (30 minutes apart), and the first group can wait for the second group once inside the Nasrid Palaces.

Enjoy your trip!

In reply to Superchicken:

We had a wonderful stay at Casa del Aljarife bed and breakfast which is located in the Albaicin area of Granada. We had our tickets to Alhambra, however other guests did not. Damian, the owner was able to secure tickets for the three of them. He also provided us with valuable information on how to visit Alhambra and he gave us great suggestions on local restaurants and shops. https://casadelaljarife.com/en/

try getting them through the granada card.. we tried to get our tickets for May and the day I wanted was sold out but was able to get it as part of the Granada card as someone suggested.

I had a similar problem and bought a Viator audio tour. Will take the tour in a few days and have been notified that now the tour will be led by an actual guide, which we prefer!
