Alhambra Ticket Types

We will be visiting Granada in May, so I hope book our tickets soon, once the 90 day window comes up. I'm going through the Rick Steves 2019 book and I hope that the info there is current and not dated. If you have the choice, and I hope that we do, since I know that tickets sell out very fast, and if you have enough days (we will be in Granada for 3 nights), which of these ticket types would you choose?

Alhambra General
Alhambra Experiences (nighttime visit and next morning entry)
Doblo de Oro General (valid for 3 days)

I'm assuming the latter is the best option?

Any tips, thoughts, whatever - would be greatly appreciated. I always learn so much here. Thank you!

The official website is always a little challenging to find, but it does cover the different ticket. Here is the link to purchase in English
https://tickets.alhambra-patronato.es/en/
I am not going to rewrite the definitions, but I did enjoy the Alhambra at night. I did this first, and then saw it by day the next day. At night, the lights really emphasize the depth and intricacy of the plasterwork. It is a bit of a fairytale visit wandering through that building and the courtyards lit with strategic flood and up- lights. There are also fewer people. That being said, I went in late October, so entry was at 6 or 7 pm. Would be a lot later in May.
The Doblo de Oro tickets get you into a number of other buildings. When I was there Oct 2017, the ticketing system and how to get your tickets for vouchers had just changed, and things were a bit chaotic. Hopefully others can give you current tips, but at that time, I went to the down town Patronato office and using a machine, got my ticket from my emailed voucher. Some of these buildings are normally free anyway, so unless you plan to do them all, there may not be any great benefit. It also depends on what days you are in town. I expect the patronato website above have the current list of buildings they maintain and their hour and price of origins. Knot that the 3 days can be the day before your Alhambra entry, but double check for current 'rules'
That ticket does not get you into the Alhambra any more frequently than once.
I checked, and what I bought was the Doblo de Oro Nocturno (so night entry to Alhambra and then 3 days for all the other buildings) and an Alhambra General that was my day time visit and an entry time to the Alhambra. It was the cheapest combo for what I wanted to do.

Maria, thank you for your helpful reply and for checking to see the type of ticket that you got. I'm not sure if they still have the Doblo de Oro Nocturno still. All I have seen so far is the Doblo de Oro General. Either way, whatever we can get, I hope that we're able to see it all at night as well as during the day. Thank you so much.

Yes, as the link I gave you above is the English one, the ticket there is called 'Doblo de Oro Night' (or similar) just over 14 Euros. Now, whether they are running that in May could be another matter.

I don't know about the current ticket types (I was there in 2006, and the tickets have changed multiple times since then). But I do want to emphasize that visiting the Nasrid Palace by day and by night are completely different experiences. For me, the day visit was far better. The night visit was nice; as said above, the spotlights emphasize the plasterwork, but you also miss a lot without natural light. It was not, in any way, a substitute for a day visit; Rick had implied it was "almost as good," and to me it sure wasn't.

All of this is to say, make sure that your ticket includes a day visit to the Nasrid Palace; a night visit is a nice extra and is worthwhile, but not a substitute.

Thank you, Harold. We got our tickets and are excited to be going. We're going to both the night and day visits.
