Alhambra ticket timing in mid November?

What would be the best time to go visit Alhambra in mid-nov? We will be arriving the previous night, coming from Cordoba by alsa bus.

Considering the weather in November, and that we don't want to go rushing in the morning, when would the best time? Would sunset viewing be a good consideration?

All time slots are still available.

Thanks in advance.

We are going to the Alhambra mid November. It is rather confusing, but my understanding is that the time really only is for the Palacios Nazaries. I tried to do some research and it sounds like it is busy right away in the morning and is slightly quieter midday and later. I got 10am tickets, but it seems like you can go in at any time (but you need to enter the Palacios Nazaries in that particular "window") I'm overwhelmed with information right now, but I think I was told that the lighting of the structure itself is not as good later in the day. I was told that you can stay the whole day if you like. If anyone has information, I would like to know if I can bring in a small "bag" lunch.

The timed tickets are only for the Palacio Nazaries. The complex is enormous and we spent over 5 hours there. We only left because we were hungry and tired. You can go into the rest of the complex at your leisure.

We walked up (in the dark!) to the Justice Gate from our flat last December 6. We were the very first ones on line into the Palacio and I can't tell you how special that was. I have a lot of pictures with absolutely no one in them, so it was worth the chilly walk up. My husband didn't bring gloves and his hands were freezing, but we both warmed up by the time the sun came up.

Don't miss the Generalife gardens. They are spectacular, even in the winter.

As the previous poster hinted, there are no restaurants on the campus. Take a picnic lunch with you. You can buy hot and cold drinks and snacks in a couple of places (I specifically remember those near the Nasrid Palaces). I think the museum in the Charles V Palace (very near the entrance to the Nasrid Palaces) is only open until about 1 or 2 pm. There's a planned one-way route to visit the Nasrid Palaces, but you can backtrack.

I've finally booked my tickets for 3pm entry to Placios Nazaries. We thought we'd walk around town that morning, then lunch and head to Alhambra. Some posts were saying to visit in the afternoon during winter, when the weather warms up a bit.

The Alhambra is not a sight that you can see in 2-3 hours. Plan on at least 4 hours. 6 hours is not an unusually long visit.

Thanks Chani! I was thinking of coming earlier, around 2pm so that we could get our bearings first and enjoy the outside area.

I believe I read somewhere that there would be food at the Parador Hotel in the Alhambra complex.
