I bought 2 Alhambra tickets on the phone which have already been posted to my bankcard. The ticket seller said he would send a confirmation email which I have not received. i called back and got a customer service number which did not work. My question: how badly do I need this confirmation if I have the card, the pin, and a copy of the charge with me when I go to the Alhambra store to get the tickets printed out? Pat Soper
You do not say from whom you purchased the tickets. I am not aware tickets can be bought in this way.
This sounds a little sketchy. Did you purchase them from Ticketmaster? Those are the only tickets you should be buying, apart from ones sold by a Granada hotel.
If you didn't, you might be out of luck.
If you used the official ticketmaster, the one actually affiliated with the Alhambra, you should be fine with the card. Try to find another number and contact them to get the confirmation. A brief Google search gave this number
+34 958 92 60 31
Sometimes international calls are tough, try different times of day (time zone difference) and see your phone's format for country codes.
Worth a try. Ive never done phone tickets, just online, so I can't say for sure how it should work.
I am a little concerned about your wording - it sounds like you might have gone through a private seller? If you used a third party, there is really no way to know. Raises red flags for me. Keep trying to contact them?
pat,
The description you provided also raises a few "red flags" with me. It could all be perfectly legitimate, but the fact that you haven't received a confirmation is a bit odd. Did they mention whether tickets could also be picked up at a La Caixa super ATM?
Some further information would help, for example which agency did you buy the tickets from?
I agree with the other comments. One thing you may or may not have overlooked is, did you check your Junk email folder?
If you did all the things other posters have suggested in the above posts, and you still see no confirmation from the seller, it might be worth your while to contact your bank card customer service department to file an official 'dispute' of the charge. If it is a legit seller, maybe it will all get worked out in the dispute of the charge.
In the meantime, it would probably we worthwhile to purchase two more tickets directly from the Alhambra's web site (the correct address, I believe, is in the Rick Steves' Spain Guidebook). Yes, you might potentially pay double, but at least you won't get to Granada and face all tickets being sold out and miss seeing the Alhambra all together.....THAT would be a big loss!! The Alhambra tickets are not that expensive in the scheme of an entire trip, and you won't want to miss it.
Thanks for the responses. I did buy the tickets from Ticketmaster. Prior to calling I had tried to buy the same tickets online, but apparently they do not accept American Express nor does the site acknowledge that. What I think happened with the email was a language issue. Even though the address was repeated more than once, the overly rapid speaking clerk seemed to have difficulty grasping what I said. Calling again seems like the best option. Pat S.
