Alhambra Rsserved Entry Time How Long Can You Stay

For the new ticketing program in place for the Alhambra; it is broken down to Morning before 2 pm ; Afternoon after 2:00 pm and Night. The General Admission Ticket gives you a reserved entry time for the Nasarin Palace and entry to the other Alhambra sites. My question is can you stay on the grounds as long as you like and go have lunch and come back to visit the Generalife and stay as long as you like on your ticketed day or does your visit have to be completed within morning or afternoon period on the ticket?
Thanks!!

'new ticketing program' - Not sure why you have this idea, morning and afternoon sessions and 2 p.m. has been the way for all the years I remember.

You may linger in any ticketed area including the timed Nasrid for as long as you like until the end of the afternoon session (7 or 8p.m.). You will not be swept out at the end of the morning session, but you cannot enter any ticketed area after 2 p.m. if you have a morning ticket.

The grounds are open all the time. There are 3 ticketed areas. Except for the special night-time visits, the only timed entry is the Nasrid Palaces. You should plan to be there a few minutes in advance. Large bags are not allowed, there are storage facilities at a nearby building (which also has toilets).

If you have an afternoon ticket, you can only enter the other 2 areas from 2.00pm. For most morning tickets (see below), you can only enter those areas before 2.00. There is no limit to how much time you can stay in either (or the Nasrid) once you enter. The Generalife is quite a walk from the Nasrid and mostly uphill. The Alcazaba is next to the Nasrid and doesn't take very long to tour. There are vending machines to get snacks and drink on the grounds (some are in the building where you check bags for the Nasrid). There are also some souvenir shops, if memory serves, they also sell drinks and snacks. Or bring a picnic lunch.

When you plan your time, do not underestimate the time it takes to get to the ticketed areas. The grounds are extensive and hilly and there are things to see along the way.

If you buy a timed morning entrance that is after 11.30 a.m., (maybe 11.30 is okay too) you can also enter the Generalife and Alcazaba after 2.00 p.m. I did this 4 years ago with a 12.00 ticket.

When we did this 3 years ago if you had a timed ticket from about 11-2 you had access to the ticketed areas all day. I think they may have stopped that practice so that now you are only allowed to be there either during the morning shift or afternoon. too bad as the place is enormous. The Generalife is probably the most interesting part and requires tickets for several stages of entry.
