I've read various places that tickets for the Alhambra sell out quickly. I'll be traveling to Granada in June, and am aware that tickets will go on sale April 20. Do I need to purchase Ap 20, 12:01 AM Spain time (that's 7 hrs earlier CST)?

Where did you here that? There are 8000 plus tickets available each day, whether a particular day and the slot for the Nasrid will sell out quickly is in crystal ball territory, but I hardly think it will happen in minutes, hours or even that day.

I am not aware of the exact date, but I don't think you need to purchase on the hour they are available. They do sell out, so to be safe I'd buy on the day they are made available, especially if you need a specific time (as opposed to taking whenever is open on your day. Right now, most of May is sold out but the last few days of May have availability. June is not available yet, as you know. If you want June 1, be more careful than if you want June 30.

We bought our tickets for May the day after they went on sale at the end of March. We were able to get the day we wanted, but the choice of times was limited. I don't think you have to get on-line the moment they go on sale; but I'd definitely recommend doing so when you get up in the morning. The web site is easy to navigate - no issues.

We are also visiting the Alhambra at the end of June. I looked on Ticketmaster and they are available through the end of May. Is Ticketmaster the best option from the US? If not, what else is available? Thanks!

I've been monitoring since 5 pm, CST. FYI: i've been so nervous about purchasing tickets, I did a "test" purchase with one of the open days in May, and everything went through smoothly.
I'm just hoping the site posts the June dates soon.

Mission Accomplished! I purchased 3 tickets for June 25 in the earliest time slot. Thanks to all who posted on this thread because I thought (mistakenly) that the Alhambra went month to month. Now, any advice for arriving, etc? The last time I visited was with a tour group, so it was all taken care of for us.

Agree with Mira. We bought ours online the day available and had no problem except the day available kept changing on the website. Best advice is to check daily to see if they are available for your desired date. Sometimes they are released late and other times a few days earlier. For instance we are going in late May and that date wasn't available until April, not March as expected. I would just check daily. Also make sure your lodging is in place. If staying in Granada that is.
