I have booked general day tickets to the Alhambra, but have also seen some recommendations to plan a second visit at night. There is one night ticket option for the Nasrid Palaces and a separate one for the Gardens and Generalife. Thoughts on 1. Is the second night visit worth it with only 3 nights in Granada (one our jetlagged arrival day in Spain) and 2. Which ticket is recommended? The Nasrid Palace tickets are almost sold-out but it looks like we could decide last minute on the Garden option. Visit is in November (Night visits from 8-9:30 PM). Appreciate the insight!
If you have the time, definitely do it, and book the Nasrid palaces ticket. They are really stunning lit up at night. It’s a whole different experience from the day visit.
I’m not sure the gardens by themselves would be worth the extra time in November — maybe someone else who’s been that time of year could answer.
It's the Nasrid Palaces I'd want to see at night (and did).
Edited to add: I can't promise the palaces will be less crowded at night. That wasn't my experience in early May 2019, when all tickets (day and night) were sold out. It seemed that all the nighttime tickets were for the same entry time.
If you don’t wind up at night inside the Alhambra, have dinner outside, at a restaurant in the Albaicín area just across the river from it. Consider El Trillo restaurant (https://www.restaurante-eltrillo.com/ ) or any other that will offer you a lighted view of the Alhambra as you dine.
I highly recommend visiting the Nasrid Palaces at night. It is magical. It is quiet and less crowded, and you can hear the soothing running water. The uplighting on the carved ceilings are beautiful.
