Does anyone know if you get a map of the Alhambra with your ticket? If not, where can I get one with a recommended itinerary? Any advice appreciated.
You don’t need an itinerary other than the timed entry to the Nasrid palace. Everything at the complex is in a pretty small area, so you start at one end and work your way to the other. Other than the Nasrid palace and Generalife you don’t need a ticket for anything. The last three times I was there, tickets weren’t even checked for the Generalife.
Periscope’s map link above is a good one. It’s pretty easy to find your way around once you enter. When we went, we also used an app for the Alhambra that had a lot of information (maps, guides, etc). I don’t have it on my current phone any more, but it looks like there is still an app in the app store for the Alhambra.
Edited to add:
The Alhambra website also has recommended routes to follow, along with other descriptions and information.
The La Alhambra sells an audio guide for 6 euro. With that, they have a map and a recommended route. It was worth the 6 euros!
Thanks for all the info. I think I will rent the audio guide!
