I can't recommend a tour group for the Alhambra as last September, we toured on our own. However, Granada is a wonderful city, but hard to discover the nooks and crannies on your own. For a delightful tapas tour, I would recommend Devour: https://devourgranadafoodtours.com/. We took this tour in Granada (small tour, only 6 of us) and discovered all the hidden gems for local tapas. Our guide Marta was delightful and knowledgeable and the Devour site has good recommendations on what to see and do.

The other area that I suggest you explore is the Albayzin Arab Old Quarter. While you can explore this on your own, we took a free walking tour and it was worth it. It was an evening tour through the old quarter, up to the caves and back down. Lots of elevation change, but great views of the Alhambra. Without the tour we would have missed so much of the history and even some of the sights (wouldn't have known that the large holes in the wall were not bread ovens, but entries to water sources for example).

Have a great trip. Granada was one of those cities that we visited just for the Alhambra, but could have easily stayed a week.

GrAnada is a great place to visit and my wife and I always toured on our own. When you visit the Alhambra is a personal choice. The larger tours tend to visit in the morning so it will most likely be busier then. We’ve visited 4 times. The last time we visited we bought the first afternoon entrance. If you arrive early you can walk the grounds until your entrance time since the ticket is for the palace. Once in the palace you can wander at your leisure so try not to get the last couple entrance times to ensure you can see everything you want. Other things to see in the city include the cathedral, tomb of Ferdinand and Isabel (Capilla Real by the cathedral), Mirador San Nicolas, Albayzin, and Roman baths. If it’s your first time to GrAnada, assume the Alhambra will occupy no less than half a day between the palaces, grounds, and Generalife gardens. The rest of the city can be seen in 1/2 day.
