Alhambra and Rodriguez Acosta Foundation

My husband and I will be visiting the Alhambra on Wednesday, November 7. Any suggestions for the time I should reserve? I realize it is very individual, but what might be considered the maximum amount of time one would spend there? I've realized that I spend more time at places than most people. I am hoping to buy the souvenir type booklet of the Alhambra ahead of time, perhaps even at a shop in Sevilla, to familiarize myself with some of the details. Lastly, I'm hoping to get some reviews/comments on the Rodriguez Acosta home that can be an add on to the Alhambra. Ideally, if we choose to go there, we'd like to go the day BEFORE the Alhambra when we arrive Granada. I'm not sure the ticket allows this. I'm guessing a ticket could be purchased separately, day of at Rodriguez Acosta? It would appear that I can purchase Alhambra tickets on August 1. Thanks!

Jules,
You'll receive variable responses here.
Some will advice to visit in the morning before the tour crowds arrive.
My mom and I visited the Alhambra in the afternoon because I'd read that the tour crowds usually visit in the morning hours.
We spend about 4 hours visiting the Alhambra Complex, but I'm sure one can spend a a whole day there as there is much to see and explore besides the Nasrid Palaces and the Generalife (gardens and summer retreat palace)

The official website for the Alhambra is full of valuable information.

You're wise to book your Alhambra Tickets 3 months in advance for best time selection.

We did not visit the Rodríguez Acosta Foundation but it is possible to buy a Combined ticket for the Alhambra and the Rodríguez Acosta Foundation

Have a wonderful trip!

Edited to add...
Thanks for posting your question! I didn't know about the Rodríguez Acosta Foundation, and will be adding it to my list, for when I return to Granada! ; )

I found this interesting information on the link I provided above:

The visit to the Foundation might be carried out on the same date shown on the ticket or on the following day.

Hah, that's funny, that's different from the other two websites that I was on that I thought were "official"! However, I do believe it is the "official" one. Sounds like they are cracking down on consolidators buying up a ton of tickets for resale. Good for them. Thanks for the info.

We are going to the Alhambra at the end of Aug. for a wedding in Granada. I booked in May for 9:30am for the Palaces and hope that is early enough. I bought a used book on Amazon in excellent condition called The Alhambra and Generalife in focus which gives a very detailed account and I would recommend this book.

Thanks @fdesson. I'll be watching for it on Amazon. Right now they have one printed in 2000. I'm fairly certain that I've seen this on Amazon before and there is a new edition. Do you happen to know the edition you used?

Thank you @fdesson, after giving it more thought, since the Alhambra is ancient, it probably doesn't matter as much how current the publication is.
