We will be leaving Spain from a two week trip on Sunday, March 8. We will fly out of Madrid. Our flight leaves at 1000am and I understand we should arrive at the airport three hours early at 700am. I'm wondering if we should perhaps stay that last night in one of the airport hotels. I'd like a reliable airport shuttle or easy access to Uber. Does anyone have a recommendation? Thank you.

We have flown on morning flights from Madrid on each of our trips the last three years. The first two of those trips we stayed near the airport. This past year we stay near the main train station in Atocha. Travel time to the airport from the station area was nearly identical and it was much more pleasant and less expensive to stay in Madrid than to stay near the airport.

I take a taxi from my hotel in the city. I arrive two hours in advance, never three.
There will almost surely be no traffic on a Sunday morning, so why would you want to waste your last night at an airport hotel?
You do not need Uber in Madrid; taxi services are wonderful.
