Returning to Madrid and have an early flight--Would appreciate any recommendations for hotel stay at/near MAD airport.

We were on the RS Spain tour a few years ago. We returned to Madrid and overnighted in the hotel we stayed at on the tour (Hotel Europa). We were able to enjoy another night in Madrid, another late and great dinner. Little sleep, but the taxi was there, arranged by the hotel, at zero dark thirty and off we went to the airport which is only 12 km away and the fare was 30 Euros. Slept well on the plane! We do not like airport hotels when there is an alternative.

My mom and I stayed at the NH Madrid Barajas Hotel in October, 2015.
The hotel offers a courtesy shuttle to/from the airport.
If you join their rewards program( free) you'll receive a 5% discount on your booking rate.
