airline connection in Orly Paris

I am considering purchasing a flight through Transavia to take me from Sevilla to Paris. That flt gets in to Orly TS at 11:35 am. I would also like to purchase a ticket through Iceland Air to take me from Paris Orly TS to Seattle, that leaves Paris at 2 pm the same day. I am a US passport holder. Is it a bad idea to try to book these flights with different carriers with this little time for the connection? I plan to use only a carry on bag but will I be delayed due to passport checks or customs checks in Paris? Thank-you very much for any advice!

Your wild card is if Transavia gets you there as planned. Since Orly to Seattle is via Iceland, you are doing an intra-Schengen flight and will go through passport in Iceland. You only need to show your passport when you check in and go through security at Orly. If Icelandic says 2 hours is early enough, theoretically, you would be good to go. But, it's a gamble that Transavia would not have weather or aircraft issues causing a delay or cancellation. How much of a gambler are you? Personally, I wouldn't do it. I'd fly in the day before.

When flying, there is always an inherent risk in booking two (or more) flights on separate tickets. If the first flight (on ticket #1) is delayed for any reason, the second flight (on ticket #2 and in this case a separate carrier) has no obligation to do anything for you. In their eyes, you will missed the flight. That's not to say that miracles don't happen, but never, ever expect one in an airport.

Why don't you just go to Paris the day before and have a last night in Paris. Even if every thing goes on schedule, you'll being chewing your knuckles the whole time, "Am I going to make it?"

Orly has two terminals. Are both flights at the same terminal?

Do you know which terminal each flight uses, to gauge how long just transiting will take? ( exclusive of any 'formalities')

Both France and Iceland are Schengen countries so your exit passport processing may be at KEF ( Check this out as I am no expert on that) If that is the case, getting through Orly will be a bit quicker, and may make this work.

It looks like you will have to take 2 flights to get to Paris. Both have to work flawlessly to make your plan feasible.

I would look for more breathing room between flights in Paris

It is way more risk than I can tolerate

Thank-you for all of your expertise/experience. I am now sure that it is not a good idea.
