AirBnb's for stays in Spain

I usually like to stay in short term rentals when staying in areas longer than a few days. I enjoy the extra space and some of the amenities such as washer/dryer and use of a kitchen.
Just wondering if the local governments have restrictions on short term rentals and should the listing include the registration/license number to show they are in compliance with any regulations.
Mainly interested in Madrid and some of the other bigger areas in Spain.

Thanks

We are just finishing our 23-day trip here.
Málaga, Granada, Sevilla, Córdoba, Madrid.
We encountered zero problems.
Our AirBnB rentals included all fees. All the places did the police form—4 online and one on paper.
Have been a fan of AirBnB since 2017 and still a fan. AirBnB was there for us during Covid in March 2020.

I like Booking.com over AirBnB. Fewer rules, accurate depiction of location, payment always handled easily, usually through Booking. They also show a range of lodgings, from Hostels, to small and large Hotels, to Apartments.

Yes, different locations have different requirements for local regulations, Booking seems to have better history than AirBnB, as long as they provide sufficient evidence of legal rental regulations (varies by locale), that is about all you can do. In Madrid for example, they must be able to provide a registration number and a statement of responsibility. AirBnB seems to be a bit lax on absolutely providing that information up front, Can't say Booking is any better, but I have not had a problem, and have usually they follow all local regulations.

I usually judge by the check in process if laws are being followed--taking the tax payment, checking your passport.
