Ae there Spanish options similar to an Agrotourismo in Tuscany?

We will be traveling to Spain for three weeks in March. In a similar trip to Italy (same time of year and length) one of our most pleasant experiences was five days at an Agrotourismo (Cretaiole) near Pienze. It was special because the rural location let us wander, and the owner provided ideas about places to visit (and eat) that would not have been accessible to us without her local knowledge.

Can anyone recommend a similar option in Spain? Our preference would probably be southern Spain, as the hill towns sound wonderful, but other recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Gracias!

I'm planning a trip to Spain and also wanted a rural experience similar to one that we enjoyed in Italy last summer. I noticed that the Rick Steves guidebook for Spain didn't seem to list rural options in the "sleeping in..." sections for the destinations that we have in mind. The Trip Advisor website, however, has several, often listed under B&B's or "other". I don't have any first hand experience, but that might be an info source to check out.

Yes there are. Do a search for casas rurales or agroturismos in Spain. Many websites come up with lots of listings. Search the geographical area of Spain you are interested in. Some of the sites can be switched from Spanish to English. Often the prices can be quite reasonable in the rural areas. You might want to consider Asturias or Extremadura.
